After the PhD I started my collaboration at CREA where grapevine and vineyards became my reference model systems. I mainly focus my research interest on plant-microbe interactions as well as on the application of New Plant Breeding Techniques (NPBTs) to improve the sustainability of grape cultivation. About plant-microbe interactions I participated to the development of the first public collection of grape endophytes (bacteria and fungi) but I also study viral ecology associated to plant tissues and to the vineyard ecosystem. For NPBTs application I mainly focus on studying the genes involved in plant-microbe interactions (both, pathogens and beneficial microbes) to improve viticulture sustainability considering all the involved factors.
