April 18th, 2023 – 2.30 pm, Aula Molon (via G. Celoria 2, Milan) and online (MS Teams)
The Grape4vine (Grape for vine: recycling grape wastes to protect grapevine from fungal pathogens) project starts with a workshop entitled ” GENETIC AND BIOTECHNOLOGICAL APPROACHES FOR A GRAPEVINE INNOVATIVE DEFENSE AGAINST FUNGAL DISEASES ” which will be held on April 18th, 2023 at 2.30 pm in Aula Molon at the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (DiSAA) of the University of Milan (UNIMI). During the meeting, the critical issues and potential of genetic and biotechnological tools to support wine production will be addressed and the premises and aims of the project, financed by the Cariplo Foundation as part of the ”Circular Economy 2022” call, will be illustrated. Grape4vine aims to enhance the waste of wine production, often treated as waste, to synthesize innovative biotechnological products (dsRNA) for the defense of the vine from two diseases: gray mold and downy mildew.
The speakers are:
• Attilio Scienza, Full Professor retired, DiSAA, UNIMI
• Luca Nerva, Researcher, CREA – Viticulture and Enology Research Centre
• Silvia Laura Toffolatti, Associate Professor, DiSAA, UNIMI
• Gabriella De Lorenzis, Associate Professor, DiSAA, UNIMI
During the workshop, there will be the awarding of the contest “The Logo for Grape4vine”.
