Description

After high school diploma in human science, I completed Master Degree in Plant Production and Protection and PhD in Agriculture, Environment and Bioenergy at University of Milan. From the very start I developed great interest towards participation to scientific research on causal agents of main crops diseases and being constantly stimulated by the challenges that research brings along. During my academic career as Post doc, a special focus has been laid on grapevine diseases caused by fungi, in particular on downy mildew. My research activity aims to find alternative strategies in plant protection and mainly focuses on disease forecasting model, plant-pathogen interaction and disease management in field. The period spent working on this topic was a turning point and has turned interest into passion. The many facets of fungi make these organisms unique and great and I believe that our researches allow to explore new ways of thinking and approaching in disease management.
