Description

After my scientific studies, I graduated in Biological Sciences as a Bachelor’s degree and in Industrial Biotechnology as a Master’s degree, and completed a PhD in Agricultural Science and Biotechnology. I carry out research on plant defense, in the specific case of grapevine, from pathogens such as downy mildew and powdery mildew using the latest scientific technologies. In general, understanding the mechanisms that regulate the plant’s response to stresses, both biotic and abiotic, fascinates me a lot. This has led me to focus my efforts on the concrete possibility of reducing agrochemical input, producing varieties that are less susceptible to pathogen attacks. I’m sure that the understanding mechanisms in plants responses could led to a more sustainable agriculture and viticulture.
